Overview

Laborer helper role in construction setting. Responsibilities and qualifications below describe the tasks and requirements for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with basic tasks
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials or equipment
• Clean and prepare job sites (e.g., removing debris, setting up barricades)
• Operate hand tools and power tools under supervision
• Mix, pour, and spread materials like concrete, asphalt, or mortar
• Set up and take down scaffolding, ladders, and temporary structures
• Follow all health and safety regulations on-site
• Perform general site maintenance, including sweeping and organizing materials

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred (not always required)
• Previous experience in a labor or helper role is a plus but not necessary
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
• Physical strength and stamina; able to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
