Job summary

Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation is seeking a Construction Manager (Electrical) to oversee the safe, efficient, and productive execution of the construction phase of Solar PV projects. You will identify resources, set plans, and coordinate with the field team to meet project objectives.

You will ensure adherence to QAC specifications, industry codes, and procedures, while maintaining strong communication with contractors and stakeholders, and ensuring timely procurement of

Qualifications

• Must hold a professional Electrical Engineer license.
• Extensive hands-on experience with on-site construction.
• Experience with Solar PV projects and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Chart project objectives and plans; set performance requirements.
• Ensure activities follow predetermined schedule.
• Devise work plans and revise as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors/subcontractors across phases.
• Monitor progress; hold regular status meetings with sub-teams.
• Ensure completion of project documents.
• Coordinate resources with the field execution team.
• Guide team with Project Manager to start and sustain work.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance with specs and codes.
• Procure tools, materials and services to meet workload and schedule.

About the role

The Construction Manager (Electrical) ensures the safe, efficient, and productive execution of the construction or erection phase of the assigned project. He identifies key resources and provides direction in order to meet project objectives. Ensures appropriate management, customer and stakeholder involvement throughout the life of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Chart out the project objectives and plans and set performance requirements

• Ensure that the activities move according to predetermined schedule

• Devise the project work plans and make revisions when needed

• Communicate effectively with the contractors/subcontractors responsible for completing various phases of the project

• Monitor the progress of the activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams

• Ensure the completion of project documents

• Ensure that all activities within the designated areas are well planned, coordinated and utilize all available resources in coordination with the rest of the field execution team

• Lead and ensure that the team is properly guided, in close coordination with Project Manager, in assembling and controlling the required resources to start and sustain the work efficiently and productively until the completion of the project

• Inspect work in progress to ensure conformity with QAC specifications and requirements, industry codes, standards and procedures, and provide technical advice to resolve problems

• Through the Project Manager, ensure the procurement of the tools, materials and services or subcontracts at specific times to conform to the workloads, plans and schedules

About you

• Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer

• Extensive experience in all relevant aspects of on-site construction

• At least eight (8) years of work experience in relevant structures such as buildings, infrastructure, industrial, power plants, especially in Solar PV projects

• Must be willing to be assigned to project sites
