Job summary

Markham Resources Corporation seeks a regulatory compliance professional to oversee ongoing renewable energy projects and ensure adherence to Philippine laws and environmental regulations in Makati.

You will coordinate with government agencies, conduct due diligence on land requirements, negotiate contracts related to land rights, identify risk areas, and establish robust monitoring and reporting across all projects.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year college degree.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point person to government agencies to ensure compliance.
• Conduct due diligence on properties needed for projects and report to the Board via the Executive Committee.
• Prepare or review proposals and negotiate contracts related to land rights of sites.
• Identify and address issues related to government requirements and land rights; propose solutions.
• Establish project monitoring and reporting systems for all renewable projects.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Job description

Basic Functions of the Job

• Facilitate and monitor compliance of ongoing renewable energy projects of Markham Resources Corporation (MRC) and its subsidiaries to government regulatory and statutory requirements, such as, but not limited to the following:
  • a. Permits and licenses for projects as required by the Renewable Energy Law - RA 9513,
  • b. Reports and other Requirements for projects registered under the RE Law Investment Incentives,
  • c. Compliance to the requirements of Indigenous Peoples' Rights Acts - RA 8371,
  • d. Compliance to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Administrative Order 30, Series of 2003,
  • e. Compliance to the Water Code of the Philippines (PD 1067),
  • f. Joint DENR-DoE Administrative Order No. 20•2-01 - Procedures for the Establishment of Energy Projects in Protected Areas,
  • g. Other permits and procedures that maybe required for renewable energy projects.
• Act as point person of MRC to various government agencies to ensure compliance;
• Due diligence works on the properties that will be needed by the projects (e.g. knowing the owners, establishing the documents and the situations of the properties, analyzing prices/generating data from legitimate assessors) and submit reports and recommendations to the Board through the Executive Committee;
• Prepare/review negotiation proposals and/or when necessary negotiate contracts, memorandum of understanding and/or memorandum of agreements of related to land rights of proposed & existing sites of renewable energy projects;
• Identify potential and/or existing problem areas related to government mandatory requirements and land rights, and recommend appropriate solutions or measures to avoid the occurrence and/or recurrence of same problems;
• Establish project monitoring and reporting system that will cover all renewable projects under MRC and its subsidiaries; and
• Perform other tasks/assignments as may be directed by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Graduate of any 4-year course, business management and social sciences graduate are preferred.
• With at least two (2) years of work experience relevant to the job
• With good decision-making and problem solving skills
• Computer literate
• Preferably can drive four-wheel vehicles
• Willing to work in Makati City
