swan.io is seeking a Compliance Officer for Spain to manage regulatory compliance and ensure operations align with legal requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing regulatory submissions, conducting watch on banking supervision matters, and serving as a liaison to regulatory bodies.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, is knowledgeable about Spanish banking regulations, and is fluent in both Spanish and English. Join us and be part of a dynamic team with a hybrid work policy!
Swan is Europe's embedded banking specialist. We empower software companies to embed banking features like accounts, cards, and payments directly into their products, under their own brand. Swan processes over €1.5 billion in monthly transactions for more than 150 companies such as Pennylane, Indy, Agicap, Libeo, and Lucca.
Founded in 2019, the company has received growth capital from leading investors such as Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Bpifrance and Eight Roads.
Swan is a principal member of Mastercard and a licensed financial institution, regulated by the French banking authority (ACPR).
Many software companies already serve small businesses wonderfully: helping them send invoices, run payroll, manage inventory, and more. They're on a mission to become the central hub for managing every aspect of business life.
But when it comes to financial workflows, there's still a gap. Too many critical tasks such as managing cash flow, tracking payments, or reconciling accounts happen outside the software, across spreadsheets, email threads, and banking portals. It’s a missed opportunity. Business software shouldn’t just record financial activity – it should run it.
Swan's compliance team keeps our banking features safe and secure, and always has to think about the best way to combine multiple areas: business, legal, regulatory, customer support, and more. Swan is both a technology company and a financial services company, and our Compliance team makes these pieces fit together.
As an Electronic Money Institution, Swan faces many legal and regulatory challenges when conducting its business and operations: fighting money laundering, protecting clients' funds, working with legitimate partners, etc. As our Compliance Officer in Spain, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations remain in line with regulatory requirements. You will have the role of AMLRO for Spain.
You’re a great match if:
It’s okay if you don’t tick all the boxes – don’t let imposter syndrome prevent you from applying.
In compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive (effective as of 2026), Swan is committed to fair and transparent compensation.
Salary Range: This position is classified as Level 4 in our Compliance grid. The salary range is €68,000 to €83,000.
Annual reviews: We conduct structured salary reviews each February, considering performance, professional growth, and market positioning.
