Job summary

1840 & Company is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to grow our gardening presence across Reddit communities and Facebook Groups. This part-time, work-from-home role requires about 20 hours per week and will operate as a contractor with flexible scheduling.

You will actively participate in gardening discussions, answer questions, and help raise awareness of our brand as a trusted gardening resource. A background check is required and a reliable internet connection is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging in Reddit and Facebook Groups to build communities.
• Strong understanding of Reddit etiquette and community norms.
• Comfort with AI-assisted research and content discovery.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Gardening knowledge is a plus but not required.

About the Job

We are looking for a Community Engagement Specialist to help grow our presence within Reddit communities and Facebook Groups. This person will actively participate in gardening communities, answer questions, join conversations and help build awareness of our brand as a trusted gardening resource.We are looking for someone with experience using and growing these channels. Plant knowledge is helpful, but not required. This person should be resourceful and comfortable using AI tools and other company resources to research plant-related questions.This is a part-time, work from home position. A computer will not be provided.

Job Responsibilities

1. Actively participate in relevant gardening and plant-related communities on Reddit and Facebook.

2. Answer questions and contribute helpful information to discussions.

3. Build Reddit account credibility, karma and engagement.

4. Identify new Reddit communities and Facebook Groups where the business can participate.

5. Research plant-care questions using AI tools and PlantAddicts.com resources.

6. Share relevant PlantAddicts.com articles and resources when appropriate.

Hours - 20 hours per week. Potential for additional hours based on performance

Background Check - Candidates will need to pass a background check in order to be considered for the role.
