Job summary

Cognizant Philippines in Taguig is seeking a Senior Cognos Data Engineer to design semantic models and develop IBM Cognos data sets, reports and dashboards for BI tools.

You will partner with business users to gather reporting requirements, optimize data objects for performance, and provide ongoing Cognos administration and maintenance, including managing Framework Manager packages. Office 2–3x per week in BGC, Manila.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 6+ years of data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in IBM Cognos Analytics (Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Framework Manager).
• Strong SQL skills and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with relational data modelling and testing concepts.
• Willing to work mid-shift (1:00 PM–10:00 PM or 3:00 PM–12:00 AM) and in-office 2–3x/week in BGC, Taguig.

• Analyzing requirements and perform technical model design of semantic layer for BI tools
• Developing IBM Cognos data sets, data modules, reports and dashboards/visualizations
• Being a technical advisor for production issues
• Optimize data objects performance and ensure efficient data retrieval.
• Supporting IT audits with documentation/proofs/run through the code base

Your key responsibilities are:

• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, jobs, schedules and data models using IBM Cognos Analytics.
• Collaborate with business users to gather and analyse data reporting requirements.
• Optimize data object performance and ensure efficient data retrieval.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing Cognos data modules, reports and dashboards including Cognos administration.
• Manage and maintain the Cognos Framework Manager packages.
• Experience in MotioCI to deploy the Cognos objects is a plus
• Knowledge of Oracle databases and logical data models, prior knowledge of data modelling is a plus.
• Communicating with the stakeholders to analyse and understand the need and design the solution accordingly
• Supporting other squad members whenever needed with your experience and knowledge.

• Must be amenable to work on a mid-shift schedule (1:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM)
• Must be amenable to work in the office at least 2-3x a week (BGC, Taguig)
