Job summary

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of Surgical ProFee coding experience, knowledge of payer rules and regulatory guidelines, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to meet productivity and quality targets in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Review physician documentation and operative reports to code accurately.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced SDS / Surgical Professional Fee (ProFee) Medical Coder responsible for reviewing physician documentation and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes for surgical and same-day surgery encounters. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of coding guidelines, payer regulations, and surgical coding methodologies to ensure accurate reimbursement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review physician documentation, operative reports, and medical records to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Code Surgical ProFee encounters in accordance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines.
• Apply appropriate modifiers and ensure compliance with payer-specific billing requirements.

• Certified Medical Coder (CPC, CCS-P, COC, or equivalent) preferred.

• Experience coding surgical specialties such as General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, OB-GYN, Cardiothoracic, or other procedural specialties is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with E/M coding guidelines and payer-specific requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to meet productivity and quality targets in a fast-paced environment.
