Job summary

First Focus is seeking a skilled private cloud engineer to back our US-based team from the Philippines. You’ll own provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of private cloud infrastructure, serving as the second-level escalation point and driving end-to-end resolution.

You will work nights aligned to US business hours (approx. 11pm–8am Philippine time), join a hybrid setup in Ortigas or Alabang, and collaborate with an Australian team during handovers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in private cloud infrastructure, with multi-client/complex environments
• Hands-on with Nutanix AHV or comparable hyperconverged infra (VMware optional)
• Enterprise networking with Juniper/Junos or similar
• Azure or AWS experience, hybrid-cloud context
• Scripting ability in PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Clear, confident English for cross-time-zone collaboration

The Role

You'll be the primary resource for our private cloud environments. That means owning provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of private cloud infrastructure for the US team, acting as the second-level escalation point when things get complicated, and being the person who actually follows through. What You'll Be Doing

• Acting as the second-level escalation point for all cloud and infrastructure-related issues from the US service desk
• Owning the full lifecycle of private cloud environments built on Nutanix AHV
• Managing and maintaining Juniper Networks infrastructure
• Supporting Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud workloads
• Driving improvements across monitoring, automation, and documentation
• Participating in shift handovers with the Australian team

Requirements

Must have:

• 3 to 5 years in private cloud infrastructure, with exposure to multi-client or complex environments
• Hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV or comparable hyperconverged infrastructure (VMware experience considered, with willingness to cross-train to Nutanix)
• Enterprise networking skills, specifically Juniper Networks (Junos OS) or a comparable platform
• Microsoft Azure or AWS experience, ideally in a hybrid-cloud context
• Scripting ability in PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Clear, confident English, written and verbal. Important when you're the bridge between two time zones

Preferred certifications:

• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
• Juniper JNCIA or JNCIS
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect

Nice to have:

• Experience working with US-based teams in a support or managed services context
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, ConnectWise, or similar)
• Previous experience working night shifts or cross-timezone roles
• An appreciation for dry humour (optional but valued)
