Qualifications

  • Licensed healthcare professional in good standing; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in clinical settings or acute care clinical pharmacy practice.
  • Solid communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with attention to detail.
  • Experience across Acute Care, Critical Care, OR, and Pediatrics; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and update clinical content using medical literature.
  • Perform QA of clinical content and maintain documentation.
  • Serve as clinical resource for internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with PD, PM, PO, and BSA as needed.
  • Help develop project plans and ensure on-time delivery of initiatives.
  • Assist in field research contributing to product advancement.

The Licensed Clinical Content Specialist (CCS) develops and updates the clinical content of Change Healthcare Clinical Products. Using medical literature review, synthesis of clinical information and data analysis and in collaboration with external peer reviewers, their role is to ensure the clinical content represents best practice standards and will meet requirements for different users, applications and contexts. The Clinical Content Specialist is also responsible for quality assurance (QA) of the content and for responding to internal and external client questions and concerns.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Utilizing the principles of evidenced-based medicine (EBM), design, develop, and update clinical content through the appraisal and synthesis of information gathered from the medical literature. Collect and incorporate feedback from external clinical reviewers and clients to ensure clinical accuracy and usability
  • Perform Quality Assurance of clinical content and create and maintain clinical documentation, as required
  • Serve as a clinical resource for both internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with Product Development (PD), Product Management (PM), Product Owner (PO), and Business Systems Analyst (BSA) as needed
  • Participate in developing project plans, monitoring tasks and ensuring on-time delivery of clinical development projects
  • Participate in field research that contributes to product advancement as needed
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications
  • Education/Training - Licensed Healthcare professional (e.g., LPN, RN, NP, PA, PT, OT, SLP, Psychologist, LICSW, Clinical Pharmacist, PharmD) with license in good standing required. Advanced degree preferred
  • Business Experience - 3+ years experience in a clinical setting or acute care clinical pharmacy practice or equivalent. Knowledge of utilization/case management and managed care industry helpful
  • Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills
    • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to step through logical pathways to determine results
    • Results oriented; effective as both a team member and independent worker with attention to detail and ability to multi-task
    • Solid clinical or equivalent experience in varied clinical practice settings such as, Acute Care, Critical Care, Operating Room, and Pediatrics
    • Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

  • Research and Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) knowledge or experience
  • Writing experience
  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge of medical coding schemes
  • Basic understanding of software development phases/life cycles
