Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cisco UC Voice Engineer to support critical upgrades and modernization initiatives across our enterprise communication platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering seamless upgrades to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), and Unity Connection (CUC), along with associated VMware ESXi infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact upgrade projects in a global environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure stability, security, and minimal service disruption.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform upgrades of CUCM, UCCX, and CUC from version 12.5 to 15.4
• Execute VMware ESXi upgrades from versions 6.5 and 7.0 to 8.0
• Complete all pre-upgrade activities, including:
  • Change submissions and approvals
  • Detailed implementation and rollback plans
  • Technical documentation and validation checklists
• Coordinate with global teams to plan and execute upgrade windows with minimal business impact
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during and after upgrade activities
• Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and best practices
• Provide post-upgrade stabilization and hypercare support, including system optimization

Required Qualifications

• Proven, hands‑on experience upgrading CUCM, UCCX, and CUC environments
• Demonstrated experience upgrading VMware ESXi from 6.5/7.0 to 8.0
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• CCNA certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting global or enterprise‑scale environments, including rotating or after‑hours coverage
• Comfortable working in remote and distributed team environments
• CCNP Collaboration (or equivalent hands‑on experience) with Cisco UC technologies
• Familiarity with ITIL or structured change management practices
• Experience with large enterprise UC deployments, including multi‑cluster and multi‑site architectures
