Job summary

Avaloq AG is seeking a DevOps Engineer to automate and improve how we build, test, package, release, and deploy software across our API-first, composable banking SaaS platform.

You will design reliable CI/CD workflows, GitHub Actions automation, and environment promotion strategies, collaborating with software and test engineers and a Senior SRE to raise reliability and developer productivity.

Qualifications

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.
• Automate build, test, packaging, release, and deployment workflows.
• Develop reusable GitHub Actions and templates to standardize delivery.
• Incorporate security checks, tests, and quality gates into pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve delivery reliability and speed.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for build, test, package, release, and deployment workflows
• Develop and maintain GitHub Actions workflows, reusable actions, pipeline templates, and automation standards
• Support practical branching, pull request, merge, tagging, and release strategies across engineering teams
• Automate deployment pipelines for development, test, staging, and production environments with clear quality gates and approvals
• Improve pipeline reliability, execution speed, observability, and failure handling across build and deployment processes
• Automate manual release and deployment steps to reduce operational effort and improve delivery consistency
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate automated tests, security checks, artifact handling, and deployment controls into pipelines
• Manage pipeline configuration, secrets, environment variables, and deployment permissions using secure DevOps practices
• Troubleshoot failed builds, blocked deployments, flaky checks, and release pipeline issues
• Contribute to infrastructure automation using Terraform, OpenTofu, or AWS CDK where needed to support delivery workflows
• Maintain clear documentation for CI/CD standards, branching models, release processes, and operational runbooks
• Work closely with the Senior SRE to align deployment automation with reliability, observability, and operational readiness goals
