Job summary

Nexperia Philippines is seeking a Mold Process Chief Engineer to drive process excellence in the Mold operations. The role emphasizes cost, quality, yield, and productivity improvements through advanced statistics, DOE and FMEA, while supporting new process development and customer issue resolution.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, develop robust processes, and mentor Mold Process Engineers to ensure zero Mold‑related customer complaints and sustained KPI achievement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with at least 8 years of Semiconductor Assembly Engineering experience.
  • Preferably Mold Process Engineering background.
  • Strong knowledge of Mold processes, equipment, tooling, controls, and EMC materials.
  • Skilled in statistical analysis and tools such as Minitab, JMP, SPC, DOE, and FMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance cost, quality, yield, productivity, and robustness in the Mold process.
  • Develop, optimize, and implement Mold processes using SPC, DOE, FMEA, and structured problem‑solving.
  • Drive investigations and corrective actions for customer complaints and production issues.
  • Own Mold yield performance by monitoring defects and ensuring process stability.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation including FMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on equipment specs, standardization, audits, and improvements.
  • Conduct technical training and support competency development of Mold Process Engineers.
  • Support production continuity and achieve KPIs by driving process optimization and minimizing Mold‑related complaints.

Job description

About the role:
  • The Mold Process Chief Engineer is responsible for driving process excellence by leading cost, quality, yield, and productivity improvement initiatives within the Mold process. This role ensures stable and robust manufacturing processes through process capability enhancement, statistical analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The engineer also supports new process development, customer issue resolution, process standardization, and continuous improvement programs to achieve and exceed business KPIs.
What you will do:
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance cost, quality, yield, productivity, and process robustness within the Mold process.
  • Develop, optimize, and implement Mold processes using statistical tools such as SPC, DOE, FMEA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Drive investigations and corrective actions for customer complaints, production issues, OQA findings, and other Mold-related quality concerns.
  • Own Mold yield performance by monitoring visual and mechanical defects, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring process stability.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including FMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and standardized workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on equipment specifications, process standardization, customer audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing sites.
  • Conduct technical training, share best practices, and support the competency development of Mold Process Engineers.
  • Support production continuity and achieve business KPIs by driving process optimization and ensuring zero Mold process-related customer complaints.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with at least 8years of experience in Semiconductor Assembly Engineering, preferably in Mold Process Engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Mold processes, Mold equipment, tooling, process controls, and Epoxy Molding Compound (EMC) materials.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and engineering tools such as Minitab, JMP, SPC, DOE, FMEA, DFM, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience driving process optimization, yield improvement, cost reduction, and continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a customer-focused mindset with strong leadership potential.
