Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Chemist to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role focuses on overseeing fuel sampling and testing to ensure compliance with fuel quality standards and directives.

Candidates should bring a solid background in bulk fuel QA and be prepared for deployment to a remote overseas location. Required are at least five years in sampling and testing bulk fuel, English proficiency, and the ability to obtain necessary visas.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in sampling and testing bulk fuel.
• Knowledge of fuel testing standards and directives MIL-STD-3004, NAVAIR 00-80T-109, TO 42B-1-1.
• Strong technical knowledge of fuel sampling, testing and QA processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, speak and comprehend English for contract requirements and safety procedures.
• Passport valid for at least one year at time of hiring.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas as required.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and deployment health standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory sampling and testing activities to support the DG fuel supply plan.
• Ensure procedures and QA processes meet operational requirements and regulatory directives.
• Document and maintain records of fuel testing results.
• Develop operating procedures and guidance for fuel testing operations.
• Coordinate with program management and stakeholders to ensure accurate execution of the fuel quality plan.
• Identify and mitigate risks to fuel storage, handling and distribution.
