Job summary

Arclin USA is seeking a Chemical Production Operator at our Andalusia, AL site. The role involves manufacturing resins and formaldehyde, loading and unloading materials, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations to run a safe and efficient operation.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will operate equipment such as GC, titrator, and pH meter, perform IPC checks, and collaborate with teams to meet production schedules while following strict PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Forklift experience is a plus; certification preferred.
• Able to drive a Tractor/Tanker unit or willing to learn.
• Analytical and mechanical mindset.
• Experience in chemical processing is a plus.
• Willingness to rotate shifts (Days/Nights/Evenings).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Adhere to strict Health and Safety guidelines and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Manufactures resin and formaldehyde according to procedures and HSE regulations.
• Unloads/loads raw materials and finished products
• Operates forklift to move materials
• Collaborates with management to meet production and shipping schedules
• Ensures shipping documents comply with regulations
• Participates in Joint Health and Safety Committee
• Follows site rules for quality, health, safety, and environment
• Monitors processes and reports deviations
• Works with Lead Operator to meet production and maintenance schedules
• Resolves process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and quality
• Responds to process alarms and takes corrective actions
• Performs IPC checks using lab equipment (GC, titrator, pH meter)
• Performs troubleshooting for process deviations

Chemical Production Operator Job, Andalusia, AL

Arclin USA is seeking talent for a Chemical Production Operator job for our Andalusia, AL location. Reporting into the Production Supervisor, this position is an entry level, full time position, and Operator is responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the manufacturing and processing of resins and formaldehyde. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with HSE - Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and Arclin’s policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.

Chemical Production Operator Job Responsibilities

• Manufactures resin and formaldehyde and/or related surfaces according to established procedures and HSE regulations.
• Unloads and loads raw materials and finished products following established procedures (tanker trailers, railcars, box trucks, and bulk trucks)
• Operates a forklift to load/unload raw materials (drums, totes, bags)
• Collaborates with management to meet the production and shipping schedule
• Ensures required shipping documents are completed and procedures are followed to be in compliance with all regulations and corporate requirements
• Participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements
• Follows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment
• Visually monitors processes within their area of accountability and immediately informs the Lead Operator of any deviations or abnormalities
• Works in close coordination with the Lead Operator to accomplish the tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production and maintenance schedules across all processes
• Communicates and confers with the Lead Operator as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality
• Responds to process alarms and interlocks promptly and coordinates timely confirmation and corrective actions to resolve conditions generating the alarms and interlocks
• Performs In-Process Checks (IPC’s) to verify batch progression and quality using laboratory equipment (GC, Titrator, pH meter, etc.)
• Performs troubleshooting in the event of process deviations

Chemical Production Operator Job Requirements

• High School Diploma Required or GED.
• Forklift experience a plus but must be able to become certified.
• Capable of Driving a Tractor/Tanker unit or being able to learn.
• Analytical and mechanical mindset needed to be successful in this role.
• Previous chemical/ processing experience a plus.
• Must be ok with rotating shifts.(Days/Nights/Evenings rotating every week)
• Must be ok with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE ( Personal Protective Equipment).
• Ability to sit, stand walk and climb frequently working in elevated areas.
• Will lift an average of 50 lbs frequently.
• Basic computer skills required.
• DCS Distributed Control Systems experience a plus
• Basic math skills required including the use of a calculator.
• Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to potentially lifting up to 20 lbs, standing for extended periods of time bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned, etc
