Job summary

HRTX is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our healthcare operations team. The role involves reviewing clinical notes, assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and ensuring accuracy for ED, SDS, inpatient, and outpatient encounters.

The candidate should hold an active coding certification (CPC/CCS/CIC/CPC-A) and have at least 1 year of hands-on coding experience in relevant settings, with strong knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• BS Nursing or medical-related degree.
• Active and valid coding certification (CPC, CCS, CIC, CPC-A).
• At least 1 year of hands-on coding experience in ED/SDS/Inpatient/Outpatient.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology.
• Proficient with EHR systems and coding software.

Responsibilities

• Review records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy for ED, SDS, inpatient, and outpatient encounters.
• Verify codes for diagnoses and procedures for claims.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and coding standards.
• Collaborate with clinicians to clarify documentation.
• Participate in coding audits and training.
• Stay updated with coding manuals and payer policies.
