Job summary

Private Advertiser in Makati, Philippines is seeking a Retail Merchandise / Category Buyer to support the Division Merchandising Manager in sourcing, buying, and managing beauty, scents, skincare, and related retail products. You will handle supplier sourcing, negotiations, and inventory management to drive sales and margins.

The role emphasizes pricing, promotions, and collaboration with stores, warehouse, and accounting to ensure accurate SKU data and timely stock movements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related 4-year course.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in retail merchandising, buying, category management, purchasing, or procurement.
• Beauty, fragrance, skincare, cosmetics, personal care, or similar consumer product experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers and products within beauty, fragrance, skincare, cosmetics, and related categories.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, discounts, payment terms, rebates, returns, replacements, and promotional support.
• Handle direct buying of assigned products and categories.
• Evaluate new products based on pricing, quality, availability, quantity, and market potential.
• Monitor product assortment, SKU performance, sales, and inventory movement.
• Prepare purchase orders, re-orders, and price changes.
• Maintain accurate SKU, product, vendor, cost, and retail price information in the system.
• Monitor product costs, pricing, and margins.
• Conduct competitor price and product checks.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and product availability.
• Coordinate with store, warehouse, receiving, accounting, and other concerned departments.
• Monitor inventory levels and product movement and address overstock or out-of-stock concerns.
• Support promotional activities, product launches, and sales events.
• Conduct store and warehouse visits to monitor merchandise availability, displays, and movement.
• Prepare purchase, inventory, sales, and other merchandising reports.

• Strong market analysis and product positioning skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with ERP, purchasing, inventory, or merchandising systems is preferred.

• Willing to work onsite in Makati and conduct store/warehouse visits.
