Job summary

IKEA Pasay City in Metro Manila, Philippines, is seeking a customer-oriented cashier for a part-time role. You will handle checkout procedures, assist customers, and ensure a smooth payment experience while maintaining store security and integrity.

You will work with a team to enhance the shopping journey, keeping the store safe and welcoming during busy periods and holidays. Prior retail cash-handling experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with customers.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with integrity.
• Able to work as part of a team and handle busy periods calmly.
• Comfortable using computers and POS systems.

Responsibilities

Job description

• You follow cash handling procedures to ensure the security of money handling;
• You ensure check-out is effectively equipped at all times throughout the day and you are ready and available to help customers when needed;
• You have knowledge, confidence, and desire to make customer payment easy;
• You will ensure the IKEA store is a safe and secure environment at all times for visitors and colleagues;
• You optimize the relationship with customers when they pay for products, in order to drive increased customer satisfaction, creating the desire for them to return and shop with us over time;
• You work together with other functions to improve the shopping experience of customers in order to generate more sales

Qualification

• You have experience working in a customer service role and a fast-paced retail environment;
• You are keen to details by being persistent, structured, and accurate;
• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills that enable you to build rapport with customers;
• You are a strong team player who values togetherness, is committed to your role, and possesses a strong customer service focus mindset;
• You can remain calm and controlled and able to provide solutions when faced with customers in stressful situations;
• You must be computer literate;
• You must work with a high level of integrity

This role requires flexibility in work hours, work schedule is approximately 25 hours per week on the average, depending on store operational requirements. Working on public holidays and weekends.
