Job summary

YHM HOME BUILDERS & SUPPL CORP. in Silang, Cavite, is seeking a dedicated Cashier to join our retail team. This full-time position focuses on delivering a seamless checkout experience, handling payments, and maintaining a positive interaction with customers.

You will operate POS systems, manage cash transactions, assist with basic stock tasks, and uphold store standards. Prior cashier or retail experience is preferred; weekend availability is a plus.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Cashier to join our retail team at our Silang Cavite location. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional checkout experience and ensuring smooth financial transactions for our customers. As a Cashier, you will be the final point of contact for our customers, making a lasting impression through your efficiency, accuracy, and friendly demeanor. This role is essential to maintaining customer satisfaction and supporting the overall operations of our retail store.

Key responsibilities

• Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process customer payments via cash, card, or other payment methods

• Providing excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering queries, and resolving any checkout-related issues professionally

• Accurately handling cash transactions, including counting cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts and reconciling discrepancies

• Scanning products and verifying prices using barcode systems to ensure accurate billing

• Processing refunds, exchanges, and returns according to company policy

• Maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic checkout area at all times

• Assisting with basic stock management and product placement as required

• Following all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations

• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth store operations and supporting colleagues when needed

• Reporting any equipment malfunctions or discrepancies to management promptly

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role, with cashier experience being highly desirable

• Strong numerical and mathematical skills to handle transactions accurately and quickly

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse customers

• Proficiency in operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer literacy

• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash and processing transactions

• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and peak trading periods

• Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced environments

• Basic knowledge of the products sold or a willingness to learn quickly

• Honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic
