Job summary

Sure-Spot Distribution Corp. in Davao City seeks a Bank Reconciliation Officer to monitor and reconcile company bank accounts, ensure transactions are recorded accurately, and investigate discrepancies to maintain cash control.

You will prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations, verify deposits, withdrawals, transfers and checks, and coordinate with Finance, Sales, and Collections to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Graduate of BS Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or a related course.
• With experience in bank reconciliation, accounting, bookkeeping, or finance operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate in handling financial records.
• Able to handle confidential financial information.
• Can work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
• Compare bank statements with the company’s accounting records and identify discrepancies.
• Verify deposits, withdrawals, transfers, checks, online payments, and other bank transactions.
• Investigate and resolve unreconciled or outstanding transactions.
• Monitor outstanding checks, deposits in transit, bank charges, and other reconciling items.
• Coordinate with Finance, Sales, Collection, and other departments regarding discrepancies in deposits and payments.
• Verify that collections and deposits are properly recorded and reflected in the bank.
• Check and document returned checks, bounced checks, and other rejected transactions.
• Prepare reconciliation reports and submit them to the Finance/Accounting Manager.
• Maintain organized records of bank statements, reconciliation reports, and supporting documents.
• Assist in monitoring the company’s cash position and bank balances.
• Ensure that all transactions are properly supported by receipts, deposit slips, vouchers, and other documents.
• Assist during internal and external audits by providing bank reconciliation schedules and supporting documents.
• Report unusual, unauthorized, or suspicious transactions to the immediate supervisor.
• Perform other finance and accounting-related tasks as assigned.
