Job summary

Belltower Funds is seeking a detail-oriented Cash Reconciliation Associate to join FAST (Fund Accounting Service Team). This is a full-time remote position based in the Philippines, with overlap to US business hours for team collaboration.

You will perform daily cash reconciliations across funds and entities, investigate discrepancies, monitor cash movements, record transactions, and assist quarter- and year-end closes, audits, and process improvements with AI and automation.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in fund accounting.
• Basic understanding of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Strong attention to detail with financial data.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cash reconciliations between bank accounts, accounting systems, and internal records across multiple funds and legal entities.
• Investigate, research, and resolve cash breaks and reconciliation exceptions within established service level agreements.
• Monitor daily cash movements including capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest, investment funding, and operating expenses.
• Record and validate cash transactions within the fund accounting platform while ensuring accurate general ledger postings.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve outstanding cash discrepancies.
• Assist with quarter-end and year-end close processes by ensuring all cash activity is reconciled.
• Support external audits by providing reconciliation support, documentation, and auditor responses.
• Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced controls.
• Look at existing processes and assess how AI/automation could improve them.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Reconciliation Associate to join our FAST (Fund Accounting Service Team). This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is interested in building experience in investment fund accounting and financial operations.

This role is responsible for performing daily cash reconciliations across closed-end funds and their management companies. The successful candidate will ensure the completeness and accuracy of cash activity by reconciling bank accounts, administrator records, and accounting systems while investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

The Cash Reconciliation Associate will report to a Fund Accounting Senior Associate within FAST and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. This role is well-suited for candidates who are highly organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a structured, deadline-driven environment.

You will:

• Perform daily cash reconciliations between bank accounts, accounting systems, and internal records across multiple funds and legal entities.
• Investigate, research, and resolve cash breaks and reconciliation exceptions within established service level agreements.
• Monitor daily cash movements including capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest, investment funding, and operating expenses.
• Record and validate cash transactions within the fund accounting platform while ensuring accurate general ledger postings.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve outstanding cash discrepancies.
• Assist with quarter-end, and year-end close processes by ensuring all cash activity has been accurately reconciled.
• Support external audits by providing reconciliation support, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced operational controls.
• Look at existing processes and ask whether AI and automation could do them better

You have:

• 2-5 years of experience in fund accounting
• Basic understanding of accounting principles including debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial data accurately
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Comfort learning and working with accounting software and financial systems
• Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely during required business hours
• Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, especially Excel/Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, vlookups)
• Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, or fund administration platforms (a plus, not required)
• Background in fund accounting, investment accounting, or financial services (a plus, not required)
• Knowledge of partnership accounting or investment fund structures (a plus, not required)
• An instinct to question existing processes and use AI and automation to build better ones

Work Arrangement:

This is a full-time remote position based in the Philippines. Overlap with US business hours is required for team collaboration, period-end closes, and cross-functional coordination.
