Orica invites applications for a Calibration Officer based at the Limay Manufacturing Plant in the Philippines. You will monitor, calibrate, inspect, test and maintain instruments and measuring equipment, ensuring accuracy and coordinating calibration activities with external service providers.

A technical school graduate or engineering/technical undergraduate with at least 5 years of calibration experience is required; TESDA NC II in Laboratory and Metrology/Calibration is preferred.

About the role

This position is responsible for the routine monitoring, calibration, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of instruments, gauges, meters, and other measuring and testing equipment.

The role ensures the accuracy and precision of measurements taken by such equipment. It is also responsible for coordinating and completing calibration activities conducted by external service providers.

This role is based in our Limay Manufacturing Plant.

What you will be doing

• Perform calibration, inspection, testing, and maintenance of instruments and measuring equipment.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement and testing systems across the site.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty instruments, gauges, and meters.
• Coordinate calibration activities with external service providers.
• Maintain compliance by supporting safe and accurate plant operations through effective equipment calibration.

What you will bring

• Technical school graduate of a relevant industrial course, or an engineering/technical course undergraduate with at least 5 years of experience working as a Calibration Technician.
• TESDA-qualified for Laboratory and Metrology/Calibration Services NC II. Must have certificates for:
  • Basic Industrial Calibration Training – Module 1
  • Advanced Industrial Calibration Training – Module 2
  • Uncertainty of Measurement Training – Module 3 is an advantage
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, measurements, and P&IDs.
