Job summary

Reframe Systems seeks a software engineer who thrives in CAD-focused work to build CAD automations that power our 10x‑detail designs in 1/10th the time. You will code in FeatureScript around Onshape, backed by solid engineering practices, to automate tasks from architectural design to factory floor execution.

This hands-on role requires prototype‑driven development with coding agents and modern AI tools to deliver robust tools used daily, not just as demos in a shelf.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of general software engineering experience, ideally in Go, Python, C#, including automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and alerting, debugging and root cause analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with parametric design (Onshape, Autodesk Fusion, SolidWorks, etc.) and building custom features/plugins/extensions in that platform.
• Experience using coding agents to build prototypes, work with others, and get to a solution quickly. A 0‑to‑1 builder.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Onshape features in FeatureScript that run in production and hold up to daily use.
• Augment Onshape workflows by building out tooling and integrating with systems outside of Onshape via Onshape APIs.
• Expanding the capabilities and uses of our modeling MCP built on top of Onshape APIs
• Work with the design engineering team to find repeated manual work, prototype a solution, and get it into their daily workflow.
• Build automation that integrates MEP constraints and augments device and fixture placement.
• Build automated code‑compliance checking, e.g. outlet placement, egress, tempered windows requirements.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to raise efficiency and throughput across design and manufacturing.
