Our client, a leading enterprise services provider, is looking for a Director of Business Intelligence who combines strong business judgment, analytics leadership, and modern data expertise. This leader will shape how Business Intelligence operates across the company, establishing the standards, capabilities, architecture, and operating practices required to support internal leaders and client operations at scale.
The role goes beyond dashboard leadership. You will understand the business problem behind the request, challenge unclear requirements, identify the right measures, establish trusted data foundations, and lead teams toward insights and decisions.
Business Intelligence Strategy: Define and execute the BI strategy aligned with company priorities. Translate business needs into an analytics roadmap covering reporting, data products, governance, automation, self-service analytics, and decision intelligence.
Business and Operational Analytics: Connect operational performance, workforce, productivity, financial, customer, and service metrics to identify performance drivers and opportunities. Move conversations from what happened toward why performance changed and where intervention is required.
Data and Analytics Architecture: Provide direction for scalable analytics architecture across Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, semantic models, lakehouse environments, and enterprise data products. Establish reusable foundations instead of isolated reporting solutions.
BI Product Development: Lead the full lifecycle from business problem definition and requirements through data validation, modeling, development, adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement. Establish standards for usability, performance, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management.
Data Governance and Trust: Create confidence in company reporting through clear metric definitions, ownership, lineage, access controls, validation standards, and governed semantic models.
Executive Decision Support: Partner with senior leaders to translate data into business decisions. Connect analytics to operational performance, capacity, cost, margin, customer health, workforce decisions, and strategic priorities.
Analytics Transformation: Replace manual reporting and fragmented processes with scalable analytics solutions. Drive standardization, automation, reusable data products, governed self-service capabilities, and stronger integration between operational systems and decision tools.
AI and Decision Intelligence: Evolve BI toward AI-assisted analytics and natural language interaction with governed enterprise data. Evaluate where AI creates measurable business value and establish the semantic, governance, and quality foundations required for reliable analytics.
Leadership and Capability Development: Build a high-performing BI organization with strong technical skills and strong business understanding. Develop leaders who own outcomes and analysts who operate as business partners.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Operations, Performance Management, Workforce Management, Finance, IT, Sales, Implementations, and other functions to align business requirements, data availability, technology decisions, and analytics priorities.
Three or more years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data, or related disciplines, including significant leadership experience.
Strong command of Power BI, semantic modeling, DAX, SQL, data modeling, analytics architecture, and modern BI development practices.
Experience with Fabric/Snowflake, modern lakehouse architecture, or comparable cloud data platforms.
Strong understanding of data governance, metric management, data quality, lineage, security, and enterprise analytics standards.
Experience translating ambiguous business problems into measurable requirements and scalable analytics solutions.
Strong analytical capability, with the ability to identify relationships between operational metrics, drivers, exceptions, trends, and business implications.
Experience developing analytics products for operational and executive audiences.
Ability to communicate technical concepts in business language and business requirements in language technical teams understand.
Experience presenting analysis, recommendations, and business performance to senior executives and external clients.
Strong understanding of operational environments. Experience within BPO, logistics, contact centers, shared services, workforce operations, or similar environments is preferred.
Experience leading analytics transformation, including standardization, automation, platform modernization, or migration from fragmented reporting environments.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
You start with the business question, not the dashboard.
You understand both data architecture and business operations.
You distinguish reporting requests from actual business problems.
You know when the organization needs a dashboard, a data product, a process change, or a different metric.
You build scalable solutions instead of repeatedly solving the same problem.
You establish trust in data through governance and transparency.
You develop analysts into business partners, not report builders.
You communicate comfortably with engineers, operational leaders, executives, and clients.
You connect analytics investments to measurable business outcomes.
You see Business Intelligence as a decision capability, not a reporting function.
Preferred Microsoft Power BI and Fabric certifications. Experience with AI-assisted analytics, data catalog tools, Snowflake, mergers or integrations, and Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or Scrum environments is valued.
