The Business Development Associate will drive the identification, evaluation, and development of utility-scale and commercial/industrial clean energy projects across the Philippines. This role requires a multi-technology focus—spanning Solar PV, Onshore/Offshore Wind, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)—to develop standalone and co-located hybrid renewable power plants.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Research, Site Identification & Pipeline Origination
- Identify high-potential land parcels and seabed areas (for wind) suitable for Solar PV, Wind, and BESS installations.
- Assess grid availability, substation capacities, and congestion risks across the national transmission network with NGCP (National Grid Corporation of the Philippines).
- Monitor regulatory frameworks affecting multi-technology assets, including WESM Reserve Market Rules, GEAP (Green Energy Auction Program), and GEOP (Green Energy Option Program).
2. Regulatory Permitting & Stakeholder Management
- Support early-stage permitting and clearance processes across key government agencies:
- DOE: Solar/Wind/BESS Service Contracts (EVOSS platform).
- ERC: Ancillary Services Procurement Agreements (ASPA), COC filings, and tariff approvals.
- DENR / EMB: Environmental Compliance Certificates (ECC) and land classifications (DAR, DENR Forestland/FLAg/MOPA).
- Engage Local Government Units (LGUs), electric cooperatives, and communities to secure social acceptability and local permits.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Energy), Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in business development, project development, or corporate strategy within the Philippine power, renewable energy, or infrastructure sector. (Direct experience in solar, wind, or battery storage projects is a strong advantage).
Technical & Industry Knowledge
- Familiarity with the Philippine Grid Code, WESM operations, and NGCP System Impact Studies (SIS).
- Understanding of technical parameters unique to each technology:
- Solar: Land ratios, GHI/GTI, module performance.
- Wind: Wind resource assessments (AEP, P50/P90), micro-siting, logistics/port feasibility.
- BESS: C-rate, DOD, state of charge (SoC), cycle life, and degradation curves.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and mapping tools (GIS, Google Earth).
Soft Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Filipino.
- High adaptability to manage fast-evolving regulations in energy storage and hybrid power plants.
- Willingness to travel across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao for site visits and LGU meetings.
