Job summary

Umpisa Inc. is seeking an experienced Business Analyst in the Philippines to drive requirements gathering, process improvement, and documentation for software projects in logistics.

You will work with cross-functional teams, translate business needs into BRDs and BRDs, and ensure quality through test planning and traceability. The role emphasizes collaboration, rigorous analysis, and delivering value to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Business Analysis within Software Engineering or Software Testing projects.
• Experience in the logistics industry is required.
• Hands-on experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira, Mantis, or Bugzilla.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, project documentation, standards, and methodologies.
• Experience creating BRD, BPD, and RTM documents.
• Experience defining and documenting business process workflows for system implementation.
• Experience writing test plans, test cases, executing tests, and preparing test reports.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Project Manager to clearly define and track project scope.
• Gather and document business requirements for IT systems, enhancements, and new features.
• Evaluate existing processes and systems; identify requirements and recommended strategies.
• Facilitate meetings to elicit requirements from users and stakeholders.
• Review documents and inputs to support requirements gathering.
• Prepare BRD and BPD documents for development, testing, and implementation.
• Create RTM to track delivery of requirements and features.
• Manage defects from reporting through resolution.
• Translate requirements into functional test cases; assist users in defining acceptance criteria for testing.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work closely with the assigned Project Manager to ensure that the project scope is well-defined and tracked.


• Gather and document business requirements for the implementation of IT systems, enhancements, and new features.


• Evaluate existing business processes and systems, identify business requirements, and recommend strategies to maximize business opportunities.


• Facilitate and/or support meetings to elicit requirements from business users and stakeholders.


• Review business documents and stakeholder inputs to support requirements gathering activities.


• Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRD) for use during project development, testing, and implementation.


• Develop Business Process Documents (BPD) to serve as references for business users and stakeholders during and after process implementation.


• Create and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to track and validate the delivery of business requirements and features.


• Manage defects by ensuring timely tracking, verification, and resolution from reporting through closure.


• Translate business requirements into functional test cases.


• Assist users in clarifying requirements and defining acceptance criteria for system testing.

Requirements
