Job summary

Rex Education in the Philippines is seeking a Business Analyst to conduct in-depth analyses, identify issues, and define requirements for digital initiatives. You will work with stakeholders and UX/UI designers to shape backlogs and ensure alignment across units.

You will collaborate with project teams to manage backlogs, support digital transformation, and deliver clear system design and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, IS, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in Business Analysis or related role.
• Fresh graduates with relevant projects or internships may be considered.
• Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Understanding of database concepts, querying, and data management.
• Knowledge of API and system integration concepts (RESTful).
• Basic understanding of cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud concepts.
• Knowledge of BPMN, process mapping, and requirements documentation.
• Understanding of programming fundamentals and software development concepts.
• Knowledge of software testing, test design, and bug reporting.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth business analysis to identify issues, opportunities, requirements, and digital solutions.
• Collaborate with UX/UI Designer to define requirements for high-fidelity mockups during Design Sprints.
• Create, manage, prioritize, and refine the product backlog based on insights gathered.
• Work with PMO to define project scope and estimate sprints for requirements gathering.
• Present backlog and requirements to business units and obtain approvals before development.
• Assist in visualizing future-state processes and adapt workflows for digital transformations.
• Provide system design/delivery artefacts including data migration rules and business logic.
• Ensure requirements are clearly documented and aligned with project objectives.
• Participate in testing activities: test case design, validation, and bug reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver digital solutions and improve processes.

About the role

The Business Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth business analysis to identify issues, opportunities, and digital solutions that support the needs and objectives of various business units. The role works closely with stakeholders, UX/UI designers, and project management teams to define requirements, develop product backlogs, and support digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth business analysis to identify business issues, opportunities, requirements, and potential digital solutions.
• Collaborate closely with the Content Services UX/UI Designer to define requirements for high-fidelity mockups during Design Sprints.
• Create, manage, prioritize, and continuously refine the product backlog based on insights and requirements gathered from business units and stakeholders.
• Work with the Project Management Officer/Supervisor to define project scope and estimate the number of sprints required for requirements gathering and analysis.
• Present the product backlog and proposed requirements to business units and secure the necessary approvals before proceeding to the development phase.
• Assist business units in visualizing future-state processes and adapting existing workflows to support upcoming digital transformation initiatives.
• Provide detailed system design and analysis deliverables, including data migration rules, business rules and logic, wireframes, process flows, functional requirements, and other relevant system documentation.
• Support the development and implementation process by ensuring that business requirements are clearly documented, communicated, and aligned with project objectives.
• Participate in testing activities, including test case design, validation of system requirements, and bug reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of digital solutions and continuous improvement of business processes.

About you

• Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or any related field.
• Preferably with 0–2 years of experience in Business Analysis or a related role.
• Fresh graduates with relevant academic projects, internships, or technical skills may also be considered.
• Knowledge or familiarity with data analysis and visualization, including statistical analysis, data preparation, and tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Understanding of database and data management, including advanced querying, database concepts, design principles, data structures, and data types.
• Knowledge of API and system integration, including RESTful principles, API design and integration, and data formats and system integration concepts.
• Basic understanding of core cloud services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and knowledge of cloud computing concepts including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Knowledge of business process analysis, including BPMN, process mapping and analysis, and requirements gathering and documentation.
• Understanding of technical and programming fundamentals, including data types, control structures, functions, and basic knowledge of software development concepts.
• Knowledge of software testing, including different testing types, test case design, and bug identification and reporting.
• Familiarity with tools and technologies including Git, Jira, Confluence, project management and collaboration tools, operating systems, and database concepts and tools.
