Job summary

The GMP Group is seeking a facilities supervisor to oversee building maintenance and life safety systems at our Toa Payoh site. You will supervise on-site contractors, investigate faults, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with cleaning and waste services.

We require 3–5 years of supervisory experience in building, mechanical and electrical systems, and familiarity with Singapore safety codes. Strong project management and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or in any discipline.
• 3-5 years supervisory experience in Building, Mechanical & Electrical system maintenance.
• Working knowledge of Singapore regulatory and compliance requirements (BCA, SCDF, NEA, WSH).
• Team player with excellent project management, supervisory and interpersonal and communication skills.
• Independent, proactive, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Work At Height certification and CERT Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend site walks, follow up on action items and Safety Committee meetings.
• Investigate breakdowns and faults to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
• Conduct monthly inspections with cleaning company to ensure KPI-based cleanliness and pest control.
• Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders for building and life safety systems.
• Address and resolve customer feedback related to Life Safety System.
• Supervise building alterations and additions ensuring safety and project compliance.
• Supervise on-site contractors for maintenance of lifts, dumbwaiters and Fire Protection System.
• Validate and prepare e-gate passes for waste disposal and collection (General/Metal/Scrap).
• Maintain building facilities including lifts, electrical, AMCV and Life Safety System.

Working days: Monday to Friday

Working hours: 8.30am to 6.15pm (Monday – Friday)

About the role

This role involves overseeing building facilities maintenance and life safety systems, including supervision of on-site contractors, investigation of breakdowns and faults, compliance with safety standards, and coordination with cleaning and waste management services.

Key responsibilities

• Attend Gemba site walks, follow up on action items and attend Safety Committee meetings.
• Investigate, check and analyse reported breakdowns & faults to determine their cause for the prevention of future occurrences.
• Conduct monthly inspections with the cleaning company to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently maintained in accordance with KPIs, including pest control and landscaping.
• Initiate and process purchase requisitions (PR) and purchase orders (PO) for building and life safety systems.
• Address and resolve customer feedback related to building and Life Safety System.
• Supervise building office alteration and addition (A&A) works to ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
• Supervise, plan, and organize a team of on-site contractors in carrying out planned and ad-hoc maintenance works including Lifts, Dumbwaiters, and the Fire Protection System to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Validate and prepare e-gate pass for waste disposal and collection for General Waste, Metal and Scrap Materials.
• Responsible for all matters relating to the maintenance of the building facilities (Lifts, Site and Office maintenance, Electrical, AMCV and Life Safety System (Emergency Eye Wash & Shower, Chemical Spill Station and First Aid Kit).

About you

• Possesses a Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or in any discipline.
• 3 - 5 years supervisory experience in Building, Mechanical & Electrical system maintenance.
• Working knowledge of Singapore regulatory and compliance requirements (BCA, SCDF, NEA, WSH, familiarity with Fire Code).
• Team player with excellent project management, supervisory and interpersonal and communication skills.
• Independent, proactive, adaptable and work well under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft office.
• Possess with Work At Height certification and CERT Certification will be added advantage.
