Job summary

BrightIron is seeking a remote, full-time Bookkeeper in the Philippines to support Canadian and US clients with accurate bookkeeping. You’ll work with QuickBooks Online and Xero on an accrual basis, maintaining client ledgers and performing monthly reconciliations.

Join a growing offshore team, follow documented SOPs, collaborate with clients and BrightIron staff, and contribute to process improvements while delivering high-quality financial leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with Canadian or US clients.
• Experience using QuickBooks Online and/or Xero, plus Excel proficiency.
• Experience in client-serving accounting roles.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Do full cycle bookkeeping for BrightIron clients in QuickBooks Online or Xero on an accrual basis.
• Maintain the general ledger for clients in their accounting software.
• Create monthly account reconciliations and continuities for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
• Follow documented SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement.
• Collaborate with clients and BrightIron team; ensure smooth handoffs with Canadian team.
• Assist with ad-hoc client requests.

We are looking for a remote, full-time Bookkeeper with a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality bookkeeping and following well-defined processes.

In this exciting role you will join our growing offshore bookkeeping team in the Philippines. What will you do?

• Full cycle bookkeeping for BrightIron clients in their accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) on an accrual basis.
• Maintain the general ledger for clients in their accounting software.
• Create monthly account reconciliations and continuities for all balance sheet accounts, and select P&L accounts.

• Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement.

• Work Collaboratively and develop and maintain relationship with clients, and BrightIron team members.

• Collaborate with Canadian BrightIron team members to ensure smooth handoffs and minimal rework.
• Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement.
• Assist with various ad-hoc client requests.

Ideally, you have:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting working with Canadian or US clients.

• Experience using QuickBooks Online and/or Xero and proficient in using Excel.

• Experience working in a client serving accounting role.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including fluency in English.
• High degree of comfort working with different technologies.
• Excellent time management and self-management skills.
• Solid problem solving and analysis skills.

• High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
• Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive.
• Ability to build strong connections with clients and team members.
