Job summary

Hunt St Pty Ltd is seeking a Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple entities, aligning with AU business hours as an Independent Contractor. The role is fully remote, with work conducted from home in the Philippines for an Australian client base.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Accounting/Finance, 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, and expertise with MYOB (Xero an advantage) to handle GST, BAS, and regular financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Good understanding of Australian bookkeeping requirements, including GST and BAS.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple entities.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, invoices, payments, and expenses.
• Perform regular bank, credit card, and supplier reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure correct categorisation of transactions.
• Review accounting records and identify discrepancies or missing information.
• Assist with GST tracking, BAS preparation, and other Australian bookkeeping requirements.
• Prepare regular financial reports and bookkeeping summaries.
• Maintain and organise accounting systems, primarily MYOB, with some Xero.
• Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes and accounting workflows.
• Coordinate with the business owner and external accountants as required.

Job Role: Bookkeeper

Compensation range: $1,500 - $1,800 AUD/month

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you'll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities across multiple business entities.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments, and expense records.

Requirements:

• Degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Previous experience supporting Australian businesses.
• Good understanding of Australian bookkeeping requirements, including GST and BAS.
• Hands-on experience with MYOB; Xero experience is an advantage.
• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to review and organise accounting records and improve existing processes.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple business accounts.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
