Wilmar Edible Oils Philippines, Inc. is seeking a Boiler Operator/Maintenance role to manage boiler operations, water treatment, and fuel regulation to ensure steady steam and quality water supply. You will record data, monitor gauges, and report any issues to the shift supervisor.
Ideal candidates have a background in mechanical/engineering fields and at least 3 months of maintenance experience; licensing is beneficial though not required. This is a full-time on-site position in the Philippines.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Responsible for maintaining records of controlled parameters, activities, and routines in logbooks, operating boiler equipment, compressors, auxiliaries, and the water treatment plant to ensure continuous steam generation with chemically treated water, and monitoring fuel consumption, water and steam quality, and utilities involved in boiler operation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Documentation Management and Reporting
Responsible for recording/tabulation of data and parameters on the logsheet/logbook regarding biomass and water treatment activities and daily routines.
Reports to the shift supervisor about any abnormalities that may be noticed in the plant.
Material Processing
Conducts level 1 inspection on a routine basis.
Operates solid-fired (both coal and firewood) and bunker-fired (SKG) boilers.
Maintains Deaerator Tank water level at approximately two (2) inches of the gauge's glass from the top.
Operates a water treatment plant, both the R.O. system and the old water treatment plant.
Regenerates softener tank if the water quality exceeds the required limits.
Ensure the air compressor runs normally and smoothly to sustain adequate compressed air pressure for the operation of SEP, Oil Mill, and Refinery Plant.
Always deplete the water from the drain plug or air pipeline of the air compressor.
Regulates the feeding rate of solid fuel to maintain the desired and required steam input and normal operating pressure.
Gets a boiler water sample and sends it to the laboratory every 3rd hour per schedule shift for analysis to maintain the standard quality of water.
Withdraw factory supplies such as hardness tablets, industrial salt, and chemicals for water treatment, boiler water, and cooling towers.
Leads fuel handlers in de-clogging ash pit & furnace once per shift or as needed, and boiler plant servicing during shutdown.
Monitors automatic control, whether they are using traveling grates or a coal boiler.
Production Monitoring
Attend the turnover meeting with the incoming and outgoing shift supervisor.
Confers with outgoing operator on status of operation.
Ensure that the boiler water level is maintained at 2/3 of the gauge glass from the top.
Gets a boiler water sample and sends it to the laboratory every 3rd hour per scheduled shift for analysis to maintain the standard quality of water.
Ensure all water tanks contain sufficient water supplies for the entire run.
Cleans all gauge glasses every day for visible and clear views to the operator.
Check all temperature gauges and pressure gauges for the normal operating temperature and pressure.
Check the fuel. Engine oil and water for the fire pump.
Monitors fuel consumption, water and steam quality, and utilities involved in boiler operation.
Other Responsibilities
Adhere to and comply with all management programs implemented by the company, including but not limited to food safety and quality management system, environmental, health, and safety regulations, sustainability initiatives, and operational excellence frameworks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A graduate of Mechanical, Electrical, or any engineering-related field.
A license is not required, but an advantage.
At least 3 months experience in maintenance is an advantage.
