Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics or related field.
• Experience as Biomedical Service Engineer or in similar technical support role within medical devices/healthcare.
• Ability to diagnose and repair imaging devices, patient monitoring systems and laboratory equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in medical devices.
• Certification in biomedical equipment maintenance or equivalent qualifications is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on medical devices and biomedical equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Execute repairs and component replacements on various medical devices, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies to minimise downtime in facilities.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to understand equipment requirements and provide technical guidance.
• Conduct training sessions for medical personnel on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on medical devices and biomedical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards


• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions


• Execute repairs and component replacements on various medical devices, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards


• Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all maintenance and repair activities performed


• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency equipment failures to minimise downtime at healthcare facilities


• Collaborate with healthcare facility staff to understand equipment requirements and provide technical guidance


• Conduct training sessions for medical personnel on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures


• Stay current with the latest developments in biomedical technology and equipment updates

What we’re looking for

• Technical diploma or degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field


• Proven experience working as a Biomedical Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role within the medical device or healthcare sector


• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of medical equipment, including but not limited to imaging devices, patient monitoring systems, and laboratory equipment


• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems as they apply to medical devices


• Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations governing medical device maintenance and operation


• Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills


• Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical healthcare staff


• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests effectively


• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various healthcare facilities within Metro Manila


• Certification in biomedical equipment maintenance or equivalent professional qualifications would be advantageous
