Job summary

Our Clients is seeking a BIM Modeler to develop, update, and maintain accurate BIM models and detailed drawings based on design specifications and project requirements. You will translate concepts into 3D models and create coordinated construction documentation in a fully onsite setting.

The role emphasizes reinforcement detailing, 3D reinforcement modeling with Tekla, and BIM coordination with multiple disciplines, ensuring constructible and standards-aligned outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related Built Environment discipline.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience using Tekla Structures.
• Minimum 3 years professional experience in rebar, reinforcement, or structural detailing.
• Solid knowledge of reinforcement detailing principles, standards, and industry practices.
• Experience with BIM-based project environments and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed reinforcement layouts and rebar solutions based on designs and drawings.
• Create and maintain accurate 3D reinforcement models using Tekla Structures.
• Translate 2D engineering information into accurate 3D reinforcement models.
• Review structural drawings to identify reinforcement requirements and potential detailing issues.
• Coordinate BIM models with architectural, structural, MEP models and participate in clash resolution.

Job Description:

The BIM Modeler is responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining accurate Building Information Modeling (BIM) models and detailed drawings based on design specifications, engineering plans, and project requirements. The role involves translating design concepts and technical information into detailed 3D models and coordinated construction documentation, ensuring that models are accurate, constructible, and aligned with project standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Rebar & Reinforcement Detailing

• Develop detailed reinforcement layouts and rebar solutions based on structural designs, engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare reinforcement details that are accurate, practical, and suitable for fabrication and construction.
• Apply relevant reinforcement detailing standards and project-specific requirements when developing models and drawings.
• Review structural drawings and identify reinforcement requirements, detailing constraints, and potential technical issues.

3D BIM & Tekla Modeling

• Create and maintain accurate 3D reinforcement models using Tekla Structures.
• Model reinforcement elements based on structural drawings, design information, and approved engineering requirements.
• Develop detailed rebar assemblies, reinforcement layouts, connections, and related structural components.
• Ensure models accurately represent the intended reinforcement arrangement and construction methodology.

Technical Drawing & Design Interpretation

• Review and interpret structural drawings, reinforcement plans, sections, schedules, specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Translate 2D engineering information into accurate 3D reinforcement models.
• Identify inconsistencies, missing information, clashes, or potential detailing issues within design documents.
• Coordinate with engineers and relevant stakeholders to clarify technical requirements.

BIM Coordination

• Coordinate BIM models with architectural, structural, MEP, and other discipline models as applicable.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and assist in resolving identified clashes and modeling issues.
• Incorporate approved coordination changes into the BIM model and related drawings.
• Work with BIM Coordinators and engineers to ensure models are properly coordinated before issuance.

Rebar Estimating & Tender Support

• Assist in preparing reinforcement quantities, material take-offs, and estimates for projects and tenders.
• Extract relevant quantiities and information from BIM models for estimating and commercial purposes.
• Review tender drawings and specifications to determine the scope and reinforcement requirements.
• Support the preparation of technical information and documentation required for tender submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related Built Environment discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience using Tekla Structures.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in rebar, reinforcement, or structural detailing.
• Solid knowledge of reinforcement detailing principles, standards, and industry practices.
• Demonstrated ability to develop 3D reinforcement and rebar models using BIM software.
• Practical experience working within a BIM-based project environment.
• Able to accurately interpret engineering drawings, structural plans, technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Experience with rebar estimating or reinforcement quantity take-off software is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for calculations, estimating, and data management.
• Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills, including the ability to work effectively with different project teams.
• Able to manage multiple projects or tenders simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
