Responsibilities
- Prepare general arrangement drawings and rc detailing with bar bending schedule.
- Ensures drawings comply with specific project design brief instructions and all details are being carried out correctly to WSP Standards and QA Procedures.
- Conduct reinforcement bar quantity estimates.
- Prepare structural General Arrangement, reinforced concrete and structural steelwork drawings.
- Perform Technical Revit operations in accordance with company requirements and standards.
- Ensure the format of the drawing sheets is set up to cater for individual project specific requirements.
- Ensure construction documents accuracy based on discipline.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Adhere to BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
- Follow BIM content standards and development procedures.
- Print drawing set for professional team and attend discipline reviews.
- Export DWF and other formats for collaboration internally and externally.
- Work within a team and produce high quality work.
- Perform quality drawing checks as required.
- Inform team leads and clients about the progress and status of work.
- Assist more senior BIM Technicians and Coordinators with the analysis of tasks and problems.
- Build an understanding of basic discipline-based design concepts.
- Participate in training activities to extend and share own knowledge.
- Gain an appreciation for the variety of project technology tools required for digital project delivery.
- Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations.
- Develop awareness of project delivery risk and mitigation techniques.
- Perform other duties as directed to help the company provide outstanding service to its customers.
Qualifications
- Technical competence commensurate with a BIM Technician’s role.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or any related course – knowledgeable in Revit Structures & AutoCAD.
- Skills in Dynamo and coding is a plus.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Applications – good English communication skills.
Experience, Skills and Organisational Knowledge
- Experience in structural modelling and detailing of reinforced concrete and steel structures.
- Experience in BIM360, BIM360 Docs Project wise.
- The ability to work as a team player, working with a wide variety of personalities and situations whilst remaining professional and outcome-focused.
- The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, management team, office team members, colleagues and consultants.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow up targets and deadlines to achieve outcomes.
- Conversant in most manners of Construction Methodology & Project Delivery methods.
- Active participation in IQBE initiatives and Discipline Plans.
- Develop an understanding of WSP's organisational capability and how to access it.
- Knowledge of relevant systems, procedures and practices.
- Aware of organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
