You will handle equipment, follow recipes, train juniors, ensure food safety, and help develop new items while maintaining a fast-paced, collaborative bakery environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' bakery experience required.
• Strong baking techniques and ingredient knowledge.
• Ability to operate commercial baking equipment.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to follow recipes precisely with creativity.
• Good time management in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to stand long hours; lift heavy items.
• Team player with good communication.
• Willing to work early mornings, weekends, holidays.
• Qualifications in baking or pastry arts preferred.
• Experience with pastries, bread varieties or confectionery advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Operate and maintain ovens, mixers, proofing chambers and other specialised machinery.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures.
• Decorate and finish baked goods with glazes, toppings, fillings and icing.
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards throughout the bakery, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
• Manage inventory of ingredients and packaging materials, reporting shortages to management.
• Train and supervise junior bakers or apprentices as needed.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to maintain efficiency and output.
• Assist in developing new recipes and experimenting with innovative baking techniques to keep our product range fresh and competitive.
• Ensure all baked goods are properly packaged and labelled for distribution and sale.
