Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure uninterrupted water supply by operating and maintaining hydro facilities and civil structures.
• Keep intakes clear of silt and obstructions; perform weir declogging for smooth inflow.
• Monitor water levels to maximize utilization per Water Resource Management standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and report abnormalities to supervisors.

As Waterguard, you will ensure that the dam, intakes, desander/desilting basin, conveyance line, surge tank, and penstock are well maintained and operating efficiently and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Operations and Maintenance team, Resource Supervisor, and NOCC to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Ensure uninterrupted water supply to the conveyance line and penstock intakes through the proper operation and maintenance of hydro facilities and civil structures
• Keep intakes or water sources free from silt or obstruction at all times and perform weir declogging to maintain smooth water inflow
• Monitor and maintain water levels to attain maximum water utilization in accordance with Water Resource Management standards
• Perform troubleshooting and initial corrective measures for minor system issues, and conduct system inspections to report any abnormalities to superiors

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

• Is highly observant and detail-oriented to monitor systems during high flow and accurately perform streamflow/gauging
• Is proactive in performing troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and initial corrective measures
• Is strictly safety-conscious, implementing Safety Management procedures and ensuring environmental protection at the worksite
• Is highly collaborative and communicative, effectively coordinating with plant operators, maintenance personnel, and the NOCC

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• At least a High School or Vocational Graduate
• Preferably with experience in Hydro Operations

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Proficiency in hydro facilities, civil structures, water diversion systems, and Water Resource Management standards
• Strong skills in system troubleshooting, streamflow/gauging, weir declogging, and basic Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
