Job summary

Asia Select Inc. is seeking a backend engineer to build and own lending platform services using TypeScript and Node.js. You will design APIs, manage data models in MySQL or PostgreSQL, and implement secure auth and payment workflows on AWS.

The role requires 3–5 years of backend experience and fintech domain familiarity. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Pasig, Philippines. You will collaborate with product, QA, and frontend teams, write tests, and participate in CI/CD with Docker

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of backend development experience.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js (v20+).
• Production experience building REST APIs with Express or a similar framework.
• Solid relational database skills in MySQL or PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, transactions and query tuning.
• Hands-on experience with an event or message broker (Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar).
• Experience with authentication and API security: JWT, OTP, request validation and OWASP basics.
• Comfortable with Docker and with deploying and debugging services on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, load balancers).
• Writes automated tests as part of normal work, and follows Git-based PR workflows.
• Uses AI-assisted coding tools effectively and responsibly; reviews and tests generated code.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the services that match lenders and borrowers.
• Own the loan lifecycle end to end: application, approval, disbursement, repayment, extensions and collections.
• Build lender tools: balance, history, portfolio and payment views.
• Implement fee, interest and convenience-fee calculations with tests.
• Support KYC, account upgrades and credit score features with teams.
• Create reliable money-movement flows with payment partners and reconciliation.
• Maintain audit trails for every financial action and status change.
• Model data and write performant SQL on MySQL 8 (AWS RDS).
• Design, build and maintain REST APIs in Express + TypeScript across services.
• Publish and consume events on Kafka and document contracts.
