Job summary

CodeRound is seeking an experienced backend engineer to own and architect the backend for an AI-native collaborative design platform. You will build scalable real-time multiplayer infrastructure, APIs, and multi-tenant data systems, while actively coding in TypeScript/Node.js.

The role combines architectural leadership with hands-on development, requiring deep expertise in backend engineering and cloud-native practices.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting backend systems for AI-native, real-time collaborative SaaS platforms.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Solid knowledge of system design, distributed systems, multi-tenant architectures, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Own backend architecture and API design.
• Build and scale real-time multiplayer infrastructure for collaborative experiences.
• Design and manage schemas, storage, migrations, and consistency models.
• Architect authentication, permissions, workspaces, and multi-tenant systems.
• Develop backend primitives powering AI features.
• Define engineering standards, architecture patterns, and code quality practices.
• Conduct code reviews and technical design reviews.
• Collaborate with AI and product teams to build scalable backend infrastructure.

Own and architect the backend for an AI-native collaborative design platform, building and scaling real-time multiplayer infrastructure, APIs, data systems, multi-tenant architecture, and AI-ready backend services. This is a highly hands-on role requiring both architectural leadership and active coding in a TypeScript/Node.js environment.
