Job summary

P&A Grant Thornton seeks an Azure Cloud Architect to drive cloud engineering, maintain systems, and lead front-end platforms, servers, and networks. You will work with Developers and Architects, helping shape the cloud roadmap while ensuring cost efficiency and scalable, secure solutions.

Responsibilities include monitoring, performance tuning, and client-facing activities to deliver timely results aligned with industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
• 5 years of systems administration or cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform is a must.
• Ability to work with virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewall).
• Ability to translate architectural requirements into solutions.
• Ability to deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available systems.
• Capable of selecting services based on compute, data, or security requirements.
• Ability to estimate usage cost and identify cost-control mechanisms.
• Capable of migrating on-premises servers to the cloud.

Job description

Azure Cloud Architect will manage the Firm’s cloud engineering and position in cloud environments. He/she will play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks.

Primary Duties & Responsibilitie

• sPerform system administration functions including monitoring system and network performance, troubleshooting system problems, maintaining user accounts and various tracking systems, and liaising with other institutional information system and information technology groups
• ;Actively manage cloud accounts (Azure) and make recommendations on how best to support our infrastructure and interact with Developers and Architects in cross-functional areas
• ;Participate in the creation of the overall multi-year cloud road map and strategy
• ;Work with internal teams and several third-party vendors in big data and other areas to support our overall cloud initiatives
• ;Continually look at emerging cloud technologies and assess whether they are the right fit with the organization, with emphasis on creating cost savings and/or value-creation opportunities
• ;Ensure capacity planning is reviewed on a regular basis
• ;Redesign or refresh existing solutions to realign and meet our ever-changing business needs
• ;Own IT Engineering projects and ensure that the solutions are delivered in a timely manner within the resource, budgetary and timeframe requirements
