Job summary

Reed Elsevier Philippines is seeking a Solutions Architect for Disaster Recovery to strengthen resilience of AWS-based platforms. You will design and standardize DR testing, lead resilience initiatives, and collaborate with architects and engineers worldwide.

The role requires 5–8 years in systems engineering or cloud infra, plus AWS experience and IACl tools. Hybrid work setup with reporting to the tech architecture team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Disaster Recovery, or Technical Resilience.
• 2-5 years of hands-on AWS experience (EC2, EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC, Multi-AZ).
• Experience in disaster recovery, resilience testing, and recovery planning.
• AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect) preferred.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and incident management tools.
• Knowledge of compliance, risk, or resilience frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design disaster recovery and resilience testing strategies across AWS-based platforms.
• Lead resilience initiatives across cloud-based applications and platforms.
• Develop and improve resilience frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Review architectures and provide recovery/resiliency design recommendations.
• Manage resilience assessments, testing activities, and compliance tracking.
• Monitor and report key resilience metrics (RTO, RPO).
• Partner with Engineering to embed resilience into product design.
• Support audits, resilience exceptions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Investigate resilience-related incidents and identify improvement opportunities.
