Job summary

The Corporate Institute in Mumbai is seeking an experienced AVP Fund Accounting to lead fund accounting operations and client delivery for alternative investment portfolios. The role requires strong expertise in NAV, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, fund accounting, operational controls, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities include end-to-end NAV operations, overseeing complex fund transactions, and driving process improvements while mentoring large teams to meet SLA and quality targets.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Fund Accounting / Investment Operations.
• Strong expertise in NAV calculation, fund accounting, and financial reporting.
• Strong experience with Hedge Funds and/or Private Equity.
• Excellent understanding of alternative investment fund structures and investment accounting.
• Proven experience in team leadership, client management, governance, and operational risk management.
• Experience managing large-scale fund accounting operations in an Investment Banking / Financial Services environment.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Fund Accounting and NAV operations across multiple funds and clients.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Hedge Fund, Private Equity, and alternative investment accounting.
• Oversee NAV calculation, review, validation, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manage complex fund transactions including capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions, fees, and corporate actions.
• Ensure delivery of accurate and timely fund financials and investor reporting.
• Manage relationships with senior stakeholders, clients, auditors, and onshore teams.
• Establish and strengthen operational controls, governance, risk management, and quality frameworks.
• Drive process transformation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop large teams while ensuring delivery against SLA, quality, and productivity metrics.
• Support new client onboarding, transitions, process migrations, and implementation of new fund structures.
• Identify operational risks and ensure appropriate mitigation and escalation.
