NightOwl Consulting in the Philippines is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to support Operations in early project phases. You will prepare detailed shop drawings, layouts and multi-view drafts using AutoCAD or similar CAD software for pre-construction needs.

Requires a minimum of 3 years AutoCAD experience; knowledge of ZWCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop is a strong plus. You will coordinate with architects, engineers and field teams to ensure designs are accurate and buildable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD experience; knowledge of ZWCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop is beneficial.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.

AutoCAD Drafter

Description

The Pre-Construction Associate plays a key role in supporting architects, engineers, project managers, and field teams in the early phases of project development. This role combines technical drafting, project coordination, and pre-construction documentation to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting & Design Support

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, layouts, and multiple-view drafts using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Convert sketches, hand-drawn concepts, and architectural notes into precise digital drawings.
• Ensure all designs comply with fabrication limitations, construction standards, and project specifications.
• Maintain and continuously update the AutoCAD block library.

Pre-Construction Documentation

• Assist architects and engineers with estimating, plan takeoffs, crowdsourcing, bid preparation, and other pre-construction deliverables.
• Produce comprehensive planning reports and visual materials for client presentations.
• Record and track daily and weekly project progress for internal monitoring and reporting.

Project Coordination

• Collaborate with project managers, field installers, and shop personnel to confirm field conditions and clarify design requirements.
• Provide ongoing support to field teams during installation and fabrication stages.
• Monitor, evaluate, and recommend improvements to urban plans or project layouts as needed.

Quality & Compliance

• Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to verify accuracy and buildability.
• Ensure that all documents, drafts, and revisions meet internal quality standards and client requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of recent AutoCAD experience; proficiency with ZWCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Photoshop is highly beneficial.
  Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and architectural sketches.
• Good mathematical and analytical skills, especially for computing dimensions and drawing contours.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent time management and a proactive, self-starting attitude (“can do” / “will do”).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.

• Experience in sheet metal drafting or coordination.
• Background in the food services industry or projects involving specialized fabrication.
• Experience providing documentation or support during field installation phases.
  Basic technical writing experience (reports, research summaries, business documentation).
• Creative eye for visuals and ability to produce presentation-ready outputs.
