Job Qualifications
  • Graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology.
  • Preferably underboard of the Philippine Medical Technologist Licensure Examination (PMTLE).
  • With Phlebotomy Procedures For Drawing Blood Samples Training Certificate.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in phlebotomy is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients.
Job Responsibilities
  • Obtains comprehensive relevant patient data through: (a) interview; (b) correct obtainment of vital signs, which include pain; (c) The use of advanced assessment techniques that is focused or systems approach; (d) correct interpretation of data obtained from monitoring equipment; and (e) correct interpretation of diagnostic results.
  • Preparing and explaining blood draw procedures to patients.
  • Gathering medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes.
  • Responsible for collecting and retrieving samples from patients for further analysis in the laboratory.
  • Responsible and accountable for verification and witnessing that the patient or the patient’s legal representative has signed the consent in their presence and that the patient, or the legal representative.
  • Monitor and assist the patients in the collection site, who initially checks and inspects provided specimens for the patient.
  • Collects, processes, and handles blood, urine and tissue samples and/or other biological specimens for analysis according to established procedures; instructs patients in the proper collection of samples.
  • Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, as assigned; conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid; performs blood counts using microscope.
  • Verifies all laboratory results and ensures that they match correctly with the specimen.
  • Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
  • Prepares detailed laboratory results and its findings and ensures the validity and accuracy of the released results.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other medical specialists to determine the correct diagnosis.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulation, safety practices, environmental and/or infection control methods.
  • Identify, diagnose and repair issues that may arise with the laboratory equipment
  • Assist the Head Med Tech in some revisions in Drug Testing documents (SOP, Policy, etc.)
  • Other tasks that the management may assign from time to time relevant to the job position.
