Global BPO Solution Ltd. is seeking an experienced Australian Tax Accountant to join our external audit practice. You will build tax and accounting expertise for Australian clients and work under Australian-based Managers and Partners to support audit planning, financial reporting, and controls.

Australian Tax Accountant – External Audit

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Business Accountant with a strong background in Australian accounting and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career in external audit. This role is ideal for someone who has at least three years of experience preparing tax returns and handling accounting requirements for Australian individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies, and who is motivated to expand their expertise into external audit. Extensive audit experience is not essential, as structured training and ongoing coaching will be provided. You will work closely with Australian-based Audit Managers and Partners, gaining practical exposure to audit planning, financial reporting, audit documentation, and internal controls. Strong English communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular communication with Australian stakeholders through email, reports, Microsoft Teams, and day-to-day discussions.

Key responsibilities

Initial Responsibilities

Prepare and roll forward audit working papers using prior-year documentation in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Assist in completing audit planning documents with guidance from senior team members.

Prepare draft financial statements and lead schedules using clients' trial balances.

Support the preparation and coordination of audit information requests for clients.

Collect, organise, collate, and reference client documentation.

Maintain accurate and well-organised audit files and supporting records.

Responsibilities as You Develop

Complete audit working papers for in-house audit engagements.

Assist with audit fieldwork and prepare supporting documentation for review by Australian-based Audit Managers and Partners.

Collaborate with the local audit team on larger audit engagements when required.

Identify basic audit observations, assess internal controls, and contribute insights and recommendations for audit management letters.

About you

At least three years of experience as a Business Accountant supporting Australian businesses or clients.

Hands-on experience preparing or processing Australian tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies.

A genuine interest in external audit and a clear motivation to build a long-term career in the field.

A degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related discipline.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the confidence to communicate professionally with Australian-based stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

Good organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to meet reporting deadlines.

A willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop technical skills through structured training and coaching.

Previous experience in external audit, assurance, or audit-related engagements (preferred).

Familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and Australian Auditing Standards (ASA) (preferred).

Structured training and ongoing coaching from experienced Australian audit professionals.
