Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an Audit Intermediate to support Australian clients in external financial statement audits and trust account audits. The role requires independence in performing audit procedures, preparing quality workpapers, and collaborating with Australian Audit Seniors and Managers.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of external audit experience, Caseware proficiency, IFRS knowledge, and solid Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of external financial statement audit experience.
• Experience performing substantive audit procedures.
• Experience using Caseware for audit workpapers.
• Knowledge of IFRS and familiarity with AASB.
• Understanding of financial statements and basic review.
• Exposure to consolidations and intercompany transactions.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Accounting/Finance/Commerce degree preferred.
• CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform external financial statement audit procedures from planning through completion.
• Prepare audit workpapers using Caseware.
• Perform substantive testing, analytical procedures, journal testing, reconciliations and evidence evaluation.
• Review supporting documentation and assess sufficiency of audit evidence.
• Assist with financial statement review and disclosure checks.
• Assist with group audits and basic consolidation procedures.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations and consolidation adjustments.
• Apply IFRS knowledge and familiarity with Australian AASB standards.
• Perform procedures for Australian trust account audits.
• Identify audit exceptions and raise issues with the Audit Senior.
