Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to support Australian clients across external financial statement audits and trust account audits. You will work with Australian Audit Managers, Directors, and Partners to manage audit sections and review workpapers, ensuring timely and accurate engagements.

The role requires 3–5 years of external audit experience, strong knowledge of IFRS and AASB, and proficiency in Caseware and Excel.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of external financial statement audit experience.
• Experience at Audit Senior level or ready for Senior duties.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and practical familiarity with AASB.
• Experience with consolidations, intercompany transactions, and consolidation adjustments.
• Experience with Australian trust account audits.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage external financial statement audit procedures from planning through completion.
• Prepare, review, and finalize audit workpapers using Caseware.
• Perform substantive testing, analytical procedures, journal testing, reconciliations, and evaluation of audit evidence.
• Review financial statements, disclosures, and financial statement presentation.
• Assist with group audits, consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and consolidation adjustments.
• Apply IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) to audit and accounting matters.
• Perform and review audit procedures for Australian trust account audits.
• Identify accounting issues, unusual transactions, audit exceptions, and areas requiring further investigation.
• Communicate audit findings and outstanding matters to Australian audit team members.
• Review workpapers prepared by junior and intermediate auditors and provide appropriate feedback.

• Practical experience with consolidations, intercompany transactions, and consolidation adjustments.
• Experience with or exposure to Australian trust account audits.
• Experience reviewing audit workpapers prepared by junior team members.
