Job Summary
The Audit Assistant supports the Internal Audit team in conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits across branches and departments. The role is responsible for gathering data, performing audit checks, preparing working papers, and assisting in identifying risks, control gaps, and irregularities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting scheduled and surprise audits for branches and departments
- Perform verification of financial records, inventory, and operational transactions
- Collect, organize, and analyze audit data and supporting documents
- Prepare audit working papers and assist in drafting audit reports
- Check compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist in inventory counts, cash counts, and asset verification
- Identify discrepancies, risks, and control weaknesses and escalated findings
- Coordinate with branch personnel for audit requirements and clarifications
- Follow up on audit recommendations and corrective actions
- Maintain confidentiality of audit findings and sensitive company information
- Support the audit team in special investigations when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Internal Auditing, Finance, or related field
- Fresh graduates are welcome; experience in audit or accounting is an advantage
- Basic understanding of auditing principles and internal controls
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic accounting systems
- Willing to travel for branch audits (if required)
Preferred Skills
- Experience in retail, automotive, or multi-branch operations
- Knowledge of inventory auditing and cash handling procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong ethical standards and integrity
