Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent such as CA/CPA/IPA.
• Minimum 5+ years post-qualification experience in accounting and taxation roles.
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and finalize financial statements per Australian standards.
• Manage taxation compliance including planning, returns and ATO lodgment.
• Oversee AP/AR functions with timely processing and reconciliation.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for strategic decisions.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

About the role

Evrima Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced AU Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to take on a strategic role. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting operations, overseeing taxation matters, and providing essential financial guidance to support our clients and internal operations. This position is crucial to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance whilst driving operational efficiency across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and finalize financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant regulatory requirements
• Manage taxation compliance matters including tax planning, tax return preparation and lodgment with Australian Tax Office (ATO)
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting principles and procedures
• Maintain detailed general ledger records and ensure accurate journal entries and account reconciliations
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with audit and taxation requirements
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity
• Prepare management reports and financial summaries for stakeholders
• Stay current with changes in accounting standards, taxation legislation and regulatory requirements

What we’re looking for

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional qualification such as CA, CPA or IPA
• Minimum 5+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting and taxation roles
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law and compliance requirements
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Demonstrated experience in financial statement preparation and audit coordination
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience in supervising and developing accounting team members
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences
• High level of professional integrity and ethical standards
• Preferred: Experience in GST/BAS management and payroll tax compliance
