As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in delivering accurate bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial reporting services for our international clients. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional eager to build a strong foundation in Australian accounting standards. Working closely with managers and directors, you will manage day-to-day financial ledgers, prepare special purpose financial statements, and assist with corporate tax returns while meeting strict quality and budgetary standards.
Execute comprehensive bookkeeping tasks, including data entry from source documents via receipt bank, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and management reporting.
Produce special purpose financial statements and income tax returns from source documents for sole traders, individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies.
Prepare and coordinate statutory compliance returns, including BAS, FBT, and payroll tax filings.
Clear review points set by Managers and Directors, draft professional client communication, and prepare covering letters containing tailored financial recommendations.
Manage fee budgets and ensure all jobs are completed efficiently, meeting technical standards, deadlines, and complete working papers within allocated hours.
Compile and analyze financial information and assist in preparing cash flow and profit and loss forecasts alongside tax planning strategies.
1-2 Years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and general ledger management within an AU accounting environment.
Working knowledge of common accounting systems, including MYOB Essentials, AccountRight Live, and Xero. Proficiency with compliance returns (BAS, FBT, and payroll tax).
Strong time-management skills, rigorous adherence to KPIs and job budgets, and high attention to detail for complete working papers.
A proactive, eager-to-learn professional who participates actively in internal training and embraces continuous professional development.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, professional correspondence for clients and internal leadership.
