Job summary

WrkPod Inc. is looking for an Accounting Associate to support an Australian accounting firm with daily accounting tasks, financial processing, and compliance responsibilities.

This role suits someone with basic knowledge of Australian accounting processes and terminology, who enjoys working with numbers and wants to grow experience supporting AU clients. You’ll collaborate with senior accountants to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and deadlines are met, following Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business course.
• Experience assisting Australian accounting firms or AU accounts is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Australian accounting processes and terminology (BAS, GST, GL, reconciliations).
• Experience with accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good written and spoken English communication.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with Australian financial and reporting requirements.
• Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Record financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Prepare and post journal entries as required.
• Maintain general ledger records and supporting schedules.
• Assist with bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month end and year end close activities.
• Prepare basic financial reports and summaries for review by senior accountants.
• Ensure supporting documents are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
• Assist with BAS preparation support tasks (where applicable).
• Maintain organised financial records and working papers.
• Coordinate with Australian accountants and internal finance teams.
• Respond to information requests and follow up on outstanding items.
• Support audits and reviews by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Perform ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as required.
