Job Summary

The Associate Lead Social Worker is responsible for the independent delivery of social services through advanced, evidence-based casework management.

This leadership role combines direct clinical intervention for complex cases with the mentorship and supervision of junior practitioners. The incumbent leads and evaluates group and community work initiatives, establishes strategic multi-agency partnerships, and contributes directly to the operational leadership and service standards of the department.

Key Responsibilities
Casework Excellence & Crisis Leadership
  • Provide clinical guidance on intake and needs assessments for complex, high-risk cases.

  • Formulate, implement, and review comprehensive casework intervention plans and care programs.

  • Prepare meticulous case reports, clinical notes, and statutory documentations.

  • Lead and manage crisis intervention cases in close coordination with partner agencies, ministries, and community stakeholders.

  • Conduct case closures upon achieving sustainable, positive outcomes for clients, families, and communities.

  • Continuously review care models and service delivery frameworks aligned with evidence-based social work practice.

Clinical Supervision & Quality Assurance
  • Provide regular individual and group clinical supervision to junior social workers and case managers.

  • Review and audit casework intervention plans, case notes, and progress reports submitted by team members.

  • Evaluate the overall progress and clinical effectiveness of ongoing casework interventions.

Group & Community Work Strategy
  • Lead environmental scans and community needs assessments to identify emerging social service gaps.

  • Strategize, design, and execute targeted group work and community development practice based on analytical data.

  • Establish strategic partnerships with community stakeholders to mobilize vital social resources.

  • Evaluate the overall progress, sustainability, and community impact of group and community initiatives.

Team Leadership & Employee Development
  • Drive the professional growth of team members through 1:1 career planning, performance appraisals, and capability building.

  • Support staff wellbeing by guiding the implementation and refinement of individual employee self-care plans.

  • Contribute to departmental management, team workflow planning, and leadership development.

Governance & Operational Excellence
  • Coordinate internal and external audit compliance adhering strictly to organizational governance frameworks.

  • Ensure all team operations align with standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
  • Possess a recognized Degree in Social Work OR a Degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution.

Relevant Experience
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant social work experience within a Social Service agency or healthcare setting.

  • Accreditation as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW) is a distinct advantage.

  • Proven track record in managing complex casework, crisis interventions, and conducting clinical supervision.
